The G-11 Light concept was to make something in between a less accurate barndoor tracker and the full size G-11 with it's standard tripod, while at the same time maintaining quick, easy, single piece
transportability and set-up.
The total cost of materials was only around $40.
I had some cherry stain already on hand (kind of wish I'd used something else though).
It consists of a cut down bar stool, a wooden round, a green plastic "6 inch drain cover" (fits perfectly) and some simple hardware parts.
Everything used (except the bar stool which came from a "Target Store") is available at "Home Depot" a national chain here in the U.S.
Fashioning a 1/4 inch oak board into a compatable dovetail plate took the use of a "Dremel Moto Tool".
A real Losmandy "dovetail  plate" and "MA" adapter could be substituted if cost is of no concern.
It switches back to a normal G-11 in under five minutes.

Great for simple meteor or wide-field photography!
Pedestal is 18" tall, unit fits in a small car passenger seat!
