Comet Hale-Bopp
    Above Palm Springs, Ca.
In early 1997, Comet Hale-Bopp rose in the east before sunrise in clear desert skies above Palm Springs, Ca.  Months later, the comet moved below the horizon and into the west during evening hours where it was seen and photographed by an unprecedented number of people.  Many however had simply missed its exceptional early morning apparition.
